This highperformance thermoplastic maintains its mechanical integrity at temperatures exceeding 480°F (250°C) and offers outstanding chemical and wear resistance, making it suitable for demanding aerospace, automotive, and semiconductor applications.

For electrical insulators specifically, PTFE (Teflon) offers the best dielectric properties and an extremely wide service temperature range. Its very low friction coefficient is beneficial, though its tendency to creep under load must be accounted for in the design.
